Plein Air, ala prima outdoors
My plein air paintings are not intended as literal records of a place, but as experiential interpretations formed through direct engagement with the landscape. Working outdoors, I respond to shifting weather, light, sound, and physical conditions, allowing these elements to shape each decision as the painting unfolds. The small scale of the work reflects moments of attention rather than complete views—fragments of encounter that hold movement, memory, and sensation. Color and gesture become ways of expressing the felt relationship between human presence and the natural world, emphasizing participation and reciprocity rather than observation from a distance.
